AWE Early Literacy Station

The Youngstown Free Library announces the acquisition of the AWE Early Literacy Station, a computer workstation loaded with more than forty-five educational software titles for children ages 2 -10.  The Early Literacy Station offers children a safe, standalone computer not connected to the internet that has age appropriate, engaging and academically relevant for children. The Early Literacy Station is located in the Children’s Room and it has colorful keyboard and tiny mouse to promote easy learning and discovery.

The Early Literacy Station’s educational software covers seven curricular areas:  reading, Math, science, social studies, writing, arts & Music and reference.  The system is designed to attract and educate toddlers through elementary school children.

Stop by during regular library hours and check-out “Computer 5/the ELS” with your children or grandchildren” and have a great experience.

This wonderful new asset to the library’s collection was funded by a generous contribution from the Friends of the Youngstown Free Library.
